Home-School Liaison
Welcome to Mount Carmel!
My name is Katie Collins and I am the link between your home and our school.
I look forward to getting to know you, the Parents and Guardians of students in our care and to develop relations with community initiatives that support your families.
My job also involves visiting you in your home to work with you, help you and act as a support to you in whatever way I can around any issues that may impact on your child’s attendance, participation and retention in school.
I organise personal, leisure and academic classes and courses for adult family members in school, thereby encouraging you to take an active role in your child’s education while empowering yourself and learning new skills.
Parents/Guardians and family members are always encouraged to be part of the decision making here in Mount Carmel and so I would encourage you to become involved in our Parents’ Council so your voice can be heard.
Our vision is to work together to create a school community where everyone is respected and valued. We want the best for our students and we believe that open communication and mutual support is the way to achieve this.
I look forward to working with you all.
Katie Collins
