Last Week our TY students took part in a whole host of different workshops, in TU Dublin. Students did Wood Finishing, Biology, Computer Science and Baking Workshops, on their campus.
For the Wood Finishing workshop, students got the opportunity to have an extensive tour of the university’s timber workshops, explore machinery, learn about wood finishing techniques and ask questions they had, on career opportunities in that industry. In the Computer Science workshop, students learned that whether they were into art, music, gaming, or technology, computer science was at the heart of all of it. For the baking workshop, our students got a chance to use their training kitchens and make a range of baked goods, under the supervision of Shannon Dickson and their senior baking lecturers. In the Biology workshop, students got to use their Central Quad science laboratories, engaging in practical biology workshops and conducting experiments very similar to the lab work undertaken by TU Dublin 1st year undergraduate students.
A big thanks to the TU Dublin staff, for facilitating and running all these workshops and also to the TU Dublin Access & Outreach team, for organising it.
