Sixth Year Prefects make a very positive contribution to school spirit. They act as ambassadors for the warm and friendly atmosphere that we are very proud of in Mount Carmel Secondary School.
Prefects act as ‘big sisters’ to the first and second year students and they help new students to feel welcome in our school. They act as positive role models to the junior students by adhering to all school rules and carrying out their duties in a conscientious and dignified manner.
Sixth Year Prefects help out at events that take place during the school year:
- First Year Induction
- Parent Teacher Meetings
- Sports Day
- Open Evening
Through their contribution, prefects can develop new talents and skills that are very beneficial to them in their own future careers.
Fifth Year students can apply for the position of prefect by writing a letter of application to the Deputy Principal.
